George Foreman has twice as many children as he had wives

Olympian, boxing champion, and grill entrepreneur, George Foreman has tried it all. But his most important and rewarding role? Being a father to his 12 children.

If you don’t know George Foreman as an Olympic gold medalist, or as a boxing world champion, you most likely know the name from the grill stuffed into one of your cupboards. For one reason or another, George is a household name. But did you know he’s had five wives and over twice as many children?

Some have followed in their father’s footsteps and others have stepped away from the limelight. Nonetheless, let’s take a look at his children and former wives.

Adrienne Calhoun

Married from 1971 -1974, Adrienne is the mother to 2 of George’s 12 children: daughter Michi, and the first of George’s sons. Though the pair divorced in 1974, George supposedly proposed to Adrienne again three years later, but she refused, thinking it would just end up in divorce again. Though they separated almost 50 years ago, the two have remained great friends since.

Cynthia Lewis

George and Cynthia married in 1977 – the same year he proposed to Adrienne. The author and boxer didn’t have any children together. The pair separated in 1979.

In 2002, Jasmine Christina Foreman claimed to be George’s daughter from this relationship. However, a blood test found this was not the case.

Sharon Goodson

The shortest of his five marriages, George and Sharon were together for less than a year and also had no children together.

Though George’s life has been filled with fame, Sharon has kept out of the limelight since their divorce in 1982.

Andrea Skete

In the same year, Andrea Skete became George’s fourth wife. The pair had two children together, a daughter Freeda and another son.

Freeda followed in her father’s footsteps and tried her hand at boxing in 2000. Though she retired the next year, she gained a 5-1 record. A mother and grandmother, she sadly passed away in 2019.

Mary Joan Martelly

George’s fifth and final wife, Mary, has brought him a lifetime of happiness. The two married in 1985 and are still married to this day. The couple has five children together.

In 2009, George adopted a daughter Isabella who lives in Sweden. Three years later he also adopted another daughter Courtney.

George Foreman’s children

With so many children, you may think it would be hard to keep track! However, George has made it even harder for himself by naming all five of his sons the same name!

All of his sons share the name George Edward Foreman, which must make swapping presents at Christmas really confusing! Fear not, from a young age the family gave the boys nicknames to keep the confusion at a bay. Though officially they’re known as George Jr, George lll, and so on, the Foreman boys have quirky nicknames such as ‘Red’, ‘Little Joey’, and ‘Monk’

Another of George’s children to follow in his boxing footsteps is his second son, George lll, or ‘Monk’. His boxing career spun three years from 2009-2019 and he earned himself a 16-0 record and 15 knockout victories. Though he moved away from the sport, he still keeps in touch with that side of his life through a successful PT career.

Two of his daughters, Georgetta and Natalia have also sought the limelight, but not in the same way. Georgetta, George’s daughter with Charlotte Goss (who he didn’t marry) worked as a TV presenter in the late 90s and early 00s. She found success on shows such as Divorce Court and Beyond The Glory.

Natalia pursued a career as a singer, though it wasn’t met with great success.
